Definitely the most famous winery in South Africa, and also described as one of the most beautiful vineyards in the world, is the Klein Constantia winery. It was founded in 1685. It is set amidst ancient trees and greenery at the upper foot of the Constantiaberg Mountain with spectacular views of the Constantia Valley and False Bay.

Klein Constantia is an ideal place for wine production in the cool climate and produces some of South Africa's finest wines, including one of the world's best natural sweet wines, Vin de Constance, which was once served by Napoleon Bonaparte himself. Vin de Constance consistently appears on lists of the world's best wines and is recognised not only for its historical significance but also for its unique style and quality.
